Yield Grade Options
In order to generate a report, the required information needs to be entered on the page first.
Under the "Live Animal or Carcass Yield Characteristics" heading, you have the option to either
calculate or enter a Yield Grade. Regardless of the method that you choose, you will always
need to enter either a Live Weight or Carcass Weight. Select the appropriate method by clicking
on either the "Calculate Yield Grade" or "Enter Yield Grade" radio buttons.
Calculating the Yield Grade
If you choose to calculate the yield grade, you'll need to enter in all of the required parameters.
In addition to the live weight and carcass weight text boxes, you'll need to select the
KPH% (Kidney, Pelvic, and Heart Fat percentage) from a dropdown box, enter the REA (Ribeye Area) in the textbox,
and select a PYG value from a dropdown box. These inputs are all that is required to calculate a yield grade.
Once all of the appropiate values to calculate the yield grade have been entered, click on the "Calculate YG"
button to calculate the yield grade. If everything has been entered and is within the appropriate ranges,
a yield grade will be calculated and displayed.
Entering the Yield Grade
If you choose to directly enter the yield grade, you will only have to enter the Live Weight or Carcass Weight
in addition to the yield grade you would like to use for the report.
Trim Level Options
Once a yield grade has been calculated or entered, you can now select the Trim Levels you want to use
for the report. Two radio buttons allow you to apply the same trim level to all primals or to select
individual trim levels for each primal.
Cutout Strategy Options
The final step before generating the report is to select which options for each cutout strategy you
want to include in the report. After you have selected these options, click on the "Generate Report"
button. This will display the report with your selected options.
Important Note!
If you want to make adjustments to the Live Weight/Hot Carcas Weight, KPH, REA or PYG values, you'll need to
re-calculate the Yield Grade by clicking on the "Calculate YG" button. If you do not re-calculate the yield grade,
then the report will include information relating to the most recently calculated Yield Grade.
